Jamie Darrell Surratt

Jamie Darrell Surratt was born on August 9, 1939 in McNairy County, Tennessee, the son of the late John Petty and Maggie Brewer Surratt.

On September 7, 1957, he was united in marriage to Betty Gail Newman, who survives. 

Jamie worked for Pfizer Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee as an Warehouseman for 11 years. In his previous years, he owned Mom and Pop Grocery store for 8 years, was in the tobacco Industry for 30 years, and was Samuelson Leon Vice President and Sales Manager for 30 years. Jamie was of the Methodist belief. He loved cutting the grass and being outside in the yard. 

Jamie Darrell Surratt departed this life on August 26, 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 84 years and 17 days. 

He is survived by his wife, Betty Surratt of Mason, Tennessee; and son, Lynn Surratt and wife Connie of Jackson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jamie was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Surratt; brother, Weldon Surratt, sisters, Nelda Butler, Hilma Harrison, and Nadine Surratt; and grandson, Josh Surratt.
