James Earl Wright,

James Earl Wright, Sr.was born in Columbus, Mississippi on March 27, 1939 the son of the late Jay and Edna Wright.Mr. Wright earned his college degree from Memphis State University, where he played football. He went on to play football for the Edmonton Eskimos, a Canadian League, and for the Denver Broncos. In 1997 he was inducted into the Tennessee State Sports Hall of Fame. Mr. Wright retired as a supervisor for Cargill Steel and Wire.Mr. Wright departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2008 at the age of 69 years, 10 months, 30 days.Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patty Wright of Memphis, Tennessee; a son, James Earl Wright, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; a daughter, Kim Verona of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Tina Dickey; a grandson, Cameron James Verona of Atlanta, Georgia.
