James Ross Wood was born October 25, 1923 in Edison, Tennessee the son of the late William Weber and Dorothy Grace Lewis Wood.He was united in marriage to Helen Hope on November 19, 1948. Mrs. Wood preceded him in death on July 7, 2009. Mr. Wood served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years, having seen service in three wars: World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Butler's Chapel Baptist Church in Chewalla, Tennessee and was a Mason.Mr. Wood departed this life on May 7, 2010 in Pocahontas, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days. He is survived by two daughters, Gail Wood of Pocahontas, TN and Kathryn Allison and husband Thomas of Justin, TX; a sister, Martha Jean Riley of Norman, OK; 5 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Applegarth; a son, Gary Wood; a sister, Mildred Louise Sessions; and a brother, Joe H. Wood.
