James Robert Willoughby
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 2, 1927 the son of the late James Robert (Bob) and Annie Bell Prince Willoughby.
Mr. Willoughby was a veteran of the U.S Army. On August 4, 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Doris Nell Hudson, who survives. Before his retirement, Mr. Willoughby worked in plumbing and electrical supply as the manager of Walker Supply and Nolan Supply. He was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, and was a 50 year member of Savannah Masonic Lodge #102. Mr. Willoughby enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and hunting.
He departed this life on July 9, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 7 days.
Mr. Willoughby is survived by his wife, Doris Nell Hudson Willoughby;
one son, Robert Lynn Willoughby; one daughter, Janet Willoughby Mallette, all of Savannah,Tennessee;
four grandchildren: Laurel Willoughby of Gainsville, Florida,
Megan Mallette of Savannah, Tennessee, Austin Mallette of Savannah, Tennessee and Russ Mallette and his wife, Christina, of Memphis, Tennessee; one great-grandchild, Sophia Mallette of Memphis, Tennessee;
and one sister, Lois Prince Dyson of Pineville, Louisiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Delmer Willoughby and a sister, Robbie Williams.
