He was born in Ripley, TN, and grew up in Memphis, the son of the late Leon Boyce and Dorothy Almeda Lenderman Wicker. He attended Hume High School and entered the Marine Corp in 1966 and served in Vietnam where he received a Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. His unit received a Presidential Unit Citation and a Meritorous Unit Citation. He was discharged from the Marine Corp in 1969 as Sergeant. He served in the Marine Corp Reserve and then joined the TN Army National Guard. He served in Memphis, Selmer, Henderson, Smyrna and retired in January 2006 from the Lavinia unit of the TN Army National Guard as Master Sergeant. He was married to Wanda Floyd in 2000 and they had made their home in Henderson since that time. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Floyd Wicker of Henderson; a daughter Stacey Ray of Selmer; a grandson Jonathan Ray of Selmer; a step daughter Amber Herzer of Los Angeles, California; a brother David Wicker of Memphis; three sisters Lois Bartlett of Bartlett, Linda Stafford of Munford and Carolyn Skroki of Collierville.
He was preceded in death by a son Josh Wicker in 1990.
