James Woodrow Weaver

March 31, 1913 — November 28, 2006

He was born and reared in Chester County the Harmony Community, the son of the late James Archie and Birthel Lindsey Weaver. He was married to Ruth Mitchell December 16, 1933. They made their home in Henderson. He had been in construction work as a carpenter, plumber and bricklayer. He had worked for Jess Harris, Raymond Johnson Construction and Cecil Hearn. He had also worked maintenance at Freed Hardeman and Chester County Nursing Home. He retired at age 85. He was a member of the Pinson Church of Christ. Mr. Weaver was an avid gardner and loved to share his vegetables with friends and neighbors. He loved to work with wood, building furniture and yard swings.



He is survived by his wife Ruth Edna Mitchell Weaver; two daughters, Martha Weaver Laws (Charles) and Nina Weaver Roberts (Wayne) all of Henderson; one son James Weaver (Laura) of Trenton; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.



Willie and Ruth raised two of Ruth’s brothers William Mitchell and James Mitchell from their early teens until they both entered the service.



Four sisters Georgia Kuykendall of Jackson, Lessie Thurbrush of California, Hazel Johnson of Florida and Peggy Weaver and two brothers Lloyd Weaver of Jackson and Elvis Weaver of Peoria, IL.
