James William Weaver
Mr. James William Weaver, age 70 passed away at his home in Trenton late Thursday, May 17.
He was born in Henderson, TN August 24, 1947, son of the late James Woodrow “Willie” and Ruth Edna Mitchell Weaver. He was a 1965 graduate of Chester County High School and graduated from Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1984. He spent his entire adult life working as a police officer. He began as a Henderson Auxiliary policeman, then worked for the Tennessee Highway Patrol Communications Division, the Trenton Police Department, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, the Alamo Police Department and finally the Maury City Police Department where he was serving as Chief at the time of his death. He was a member of the West Tennessee Criminal Investigators Association.
He married Laura Wyatt on December 16, 1994 and was a member of the Dorris Chapel Church of Christ. He was an animal lover, keeping quarter horses and had pet dogs and cats. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife Laura Weaver of Trenton, a son Rodney Weaver and wife Misty of Finger, TN, two stepsons, John Michael Foster of Edwardsville, IL and David Foster and wife Jessica of Dyer, TN; a daughter Amy Jopson and husband Alan of Rock Hill, SC; a sister Martha Laws of Henderson; 6 grandchildren Shelby Holley, Nicholas and Elliott Foster, Ava Grace and Asa Jopson and Zach Foust.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Roberts.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 20 at Chester County Memory Gardens on HWY 45 S in Henderson with Tim Fuqua officiating.
