James Taylor

James Taylor, beloved husband, father, and friend, was born on August 18, 1946, in Hornsby, Tennessee, to the late William and Elsie Smith Taylor. He embarked on a beautiful journey of life and love when he married, Shelia Conley, on June 12, 1971. Together, they built a family filled with laughter, kindness, and cherished memories.

Mr. Taylor dedicated four honorable years to serving his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected his unwavering commitment and sense of duty. From 1968 to 1972, he lived in Austin, followed by a time in Crump from 1972 to 1980, before finally settling in Stantonville, TN, in 1980.

For 26 years, he was a valued member of the General Electric team in shop service, showcasing his hard work and dedication. Additionally, Mr. Taylor owned Taylor's Auction in Crump, TN, making countless connections along the way. A lover of the outdoors, he found joy in camping and horse riding at Seven Springs Lodge in Tuscumbia, AL, where he embraced the beauty of nature and created lasting memories.

Mr. Taylor's faith was central to his life, and he was a member of Meeks Grove Freewill Baptist Church. 

His departure on January 8, 2025, in Stantonville at the age of 78 leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Shelia Taylor of Stantonville, TN; his son Andy Taylor and daughter-in-law Devan of Adamsville, TN; his grandchildren, Alivia, Andan, and Axton Taylor all of Adamsville, TN; sister, Beverly Chambers of Savannah, TN; nieces, Brook Vaughn and husband Kris and Kristen Chambers, and nephew Eric Chambers all of Adamsville,TN. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wayne Taylor; grandparents, Ed and Nona Taylor, Grover and Myrtle Smith; life long best friend, Winston Pickens who passed in 2017.

James Taylor's legacy of love and friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
