Services for James William (Billy) Stricklin, age 76, of Waynesboro, TN will be Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 11 am at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro with Owen Stricklin and Bobbie Martin officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Justin Nichols, Jacob Nichols, Cainan Stricklin, Amber Stricklin, Jake Calton, Brian Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Abree Haddock, Luke Calton, Mendy Beason, Ryan Smith, Brittany Stricklin, Megan Stricklin, Tori Beason, Colton Beason, Carter Smith, Corbin Smith, Ethan Skimehorne, David Skimehorne, Trent Pitts, Joel Gobbell, Bobby Mathis.
Mr. Stricklin died suddenly on Saturday, November 24, 2007 in Waynesboro, TN.
A native of Wayne County, TN, he was a farmer, a retired logger, and a retired Wayne County School bus driver and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Stricklin was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, the VFW, and the Volunteer Trail Rider’s Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. and Hester Jewel Weaver Stricklin and a sister, Evelyn Stricklin.
Survivors, wife, Emma Nola Dixon Stricklin, Waynesboro; sons, Michael Stricklin and wife, Carole, Mark Stricklin and wife, Karen , all of Waynesboro; daughters, Debbie Nichols and husband, Bruce of Danville, KY and Deloris Calton and husband, Billy of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Stricklin of Smyrna, TN; sisters, Dorothy Pollock of Nashville, TN and Sue Skimehorne of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
