Mr. Stone died Friday at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to James William Stone, Sr. and Sarah Utley Stone. His early life was spent in Mobile, Alabama and Pearl, Mississippi and as an adult moved to Memphis. He had lived the past six years in Grand Junction, where he worked as a cook at the Junction Inn Restaurant, owned by his parents. While in Memphis, he was a member of the Underwood/Colonial Park Baptist Church. Among his hobbies was a great love for fishing.
He is survived by a son, Benjamin William Stone of Ridgeland, MS; his parents, Bill and Sarah Stone of Saulsbury, TN; three sisters, Barbara Taylor and her husband, Chris, of Brandon, MS, Kelley Stone of Grand Junction, and Karen Stanley of Saulsbury; one brother, Jonathan Stone of Memphis; his paternal grandmother, Jimmie Mae Stone of Birmingham, Alabama; four nieces and four nephews; and his faithful dog, "Daisy."
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Verna B. King.
