James Randel Smotherman

Funeral services for James Randel (Buddy) Smotherman, age 78, of Waynesboro, TN will be Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, with Joel Wallace officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in McCall Cemetery in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Earl Moore, Wayne Stutts, Bronson Smotherman, Jeff Reaves, Gearld Cole, Leon Hill, Glen Reaves, and Kevin Holt.



Mr. Smotherman died at Metro Nashville General Hospital in Nashville, TN on Saturday, December 15, 2007.



A native of Wayne County, TN, he was had worked at Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company, Tennessee Highway Dept., City of Waynesboro, and had served as Constable. Mr. Smotherman was preceded in death my parents, Huey Robert and Abree Dean Davis Smotherman, son, James Ray Smotherman, brothers, Wilburn and Elzie (Pete) Smotherman, and sisters, Margaret Long and Carmie Morgan.



Survivors, wife, Alice Parker Smotherman; sons, Garvis and Bobby Smotherman; daughters, Sandra and Teresa Smotherman, all of Waynesboro, TN; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters; Clara Haddock, Waynesboro, TN and Mabel Davis, St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews.
