James William Seddens, 93, of Whiteville, died Sunday, February
20 at Haywood Park Hospital in Brownsville.
Born October 19, 1911 in Whiteville, son of the late Luther Charles
and Minnie Frances Gibson Seddens, he lived there most of his life
and was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII at the
Battle of the Bulge with the Horse Cavalry receiving a Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal. He was also a member of Whiteville First Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be 10 AM Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at
Melrose Cemetery near Whiteville with Bill Sorrell officiating.
Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of
arrangements.
Survivors include one nephew, Charles Gordon Blanton of Whiteville and ODeniece, Evelyn Seddens Lomax of Brownsville.
