James Melvin Scott

Mr. Scott died Wed., Nov. 28 at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis. He was the widower of Ruth Geneva Scott, who died in 1984 and was a farmer. He was born to the late James Lindsey Scott and Willie Bama Hensley and lived most of his life in Fayette County. He loved to hand carve and work with wood an was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.



Survivors include a daughter, Cathie Scott of Whiteville; a sister, Mavis Darnell of Moscow; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Freeman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Austin Scott and three brothers, L. C., Bob and Willie Clyde Scott.
