James Rinks was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 7, 1922 the son of the late Oscar (Bub) and Cora Lee Bonee Rinks.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On August 3, 1946 he was united in marriage to Nellie Alma Scott Rinks, who preceded him in death on March 8, 2004. Mr. Rinks worked as a groundskeeper at the Savannah Country Club for many years. He lived in the Walkertown community and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.He departed this life on July 27, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 20 days.Mr. Rinks is survived by his daughter, Angelean Gray of Savannah, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Kenneth Gray and Sandy Jerrolds;and six great-grandchildren: Lauren, Leah and Westin Jerrolds and Libby, Knox and Jack Gray.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry Rinks; one sister, Betty Adelaide Rinks; and 4 brothers: Oscar, Robert, Johnny and Lutt Rinks.
