James Calvin Pollock was born June 24, 1947 in Chester County, TN the son of the late William Elvis and Gertie Bell Middleton Pollock. Mr. Pollock departed this life on January 5, 2019 at his home in Henderson, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days.
Calvin attended school in Beech Bluff, TN. He served a short time in the U.S. Marines but was honorably discharged for health reasons. He moved to Michigan to work in the steel industry where he also met Wanda Marie Coffey and they married on September 11, 1971. He retired from Speer Steel in 1975 due to health disability. He and Wanda moved to Chester County in 1980.
Calvin was a member of the Church of God in Pinson, TN. He liked to shoot pool, play cards, Bingo and to go fishing.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Pollock of Henderson, two daughters Kutina Reeves (Roy) of Darden, TN and Deneen Kilpatrick (Ricky) of Jackson, TN; two sisters Maudie Nell Taylor of Henderson and Shirley Ann Moore of Jackson, TN; five grandchildren Matthew Evans, Justin Carnell, Ronnie Carnell, Kristina Carnell and Ana Lisa Reeves; and four great grandchildren Ella, Brogan, Aubry and Addison Carnell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pollock was preceded in death by two brothers William Alvin (Sonny) Pollock and Hugh Allen Pollock.
Services will be held on January 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson's Crook Ave. Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery at Lexington, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends at Crook Ave. on Tuesday, January 8 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
