James William Melton

James William Melton was born October 27, 1923 in Wayne Co., Tennessee the son of the late Loyal Denoble and Maudie Lucille Brewer Melton.
He was united in marriage to Louise Griggs on February 13, 1948 and she preceded him in death on December 30, 1993. He was united in marriage to Rita Jane Brewer Luna on February 24, 1995. Mr. Melton was a retired inspector with General Motors, was a United States Army veteran of WW II, having served at Iwo Jima, was a member of the VFW and the UAW, and was a member of the First United Methodist in Hohenwald, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Melton was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Edward Melton, Mr. Jimmy Melton; three sisters, Ms. Chapel Melton, Mrs. Edith (Melton) Tharp, Mrs. Reba (Melton) Clay.
Mr. Melton departed this life on June 18, 2008 at Perry Community Hospital in Linden, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 7 Months, 22 Days.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Rita Jane Brewer Luna Melton of Hohenwald, TN; a stepson, Mr. Darryl Luna and wife Donna of Linden, TN; two step-daughters, Mrs. Jancy (Luna) Beckham and husband Jim of Waynesboro, TN, Mrs. Talitha (Luna) Willard and husband Philip of Waynesboro, TN; God-daughters, Jennifer Davis and Deanna Kilroy both of MI; a brother, Mr. Glenn Melton of Hohenwald, TN; step-grandchildren, Amber Beckham Stults and husband, Tim of Fayetteville, AR, Lillian Luna of Huntsville, AL, Hillary delaRosa and husband, Micah of Birmingham, AL, John Thomas Luna of Linden, TN; step-great-grandchildren, Timothy-Beck, Grace, and Lilly Stults of Fayetteville, AR; and several nieces and nephews.
