James Michael Melton

James Michael (Mike) Melton of Waynesboro, TN was born August 29, 1960 in Pensacola, Florida, the son of Patricia Louise Bonifay Melton Lowery of Waynesboro, TN, who survives and the late William Harvey Melton, Jr. He was a disabled factory worker and mechanic and a United States Army veteran. Mr. Melton departed this life on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at his residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 50 Years, 3 Months, 17 Days after a lengthy illness. Other than his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Beth Morgan and Brittney Nicole Lawrence both of Waynesboro, TN; three grandchildren, Xavier Brandon Michael Lawrence, Timothy Andrew Morgan, and Alexis Nicole Ann Morgan; three brothers, David Russell Melton of Tioga, PA, William Harvey Melton, III of Lavergne, TN, Johnny Douglas Melton of White Bluff, TN; two sisters, Betty Louise Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Donna Kay Butler of White House, TN; nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Melton was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Morgan. Services will be held on Tuesday,December 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cal Hampton and Casey Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Visitation will be Monday, December 20, 2010 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
