James M. Major

JAMES M. MAJOR



Was born in Dickson County, Tennessee on May 29, 1917 the son of the late James Moore and Althea Harper Major.



On January 8, 1955 he was united in marriage to the former Sara Ann Nicks, who survives.



Mr. Major was a lockmaster for the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers at Pickwick Dam. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Major was a member of Savannah Church of Christ and was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He loved to play golf and loved to garden.



Mr. Major departed this life on September 18, 2006 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years



Other than his wife, Sara Ann Major of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one son, James Moore Major, III.



One sister, Fay Shearon of Ashland City, Tennessee.



One brother, Larry Fambrough of Chapmansboro, Tennessee.



Mr. Major was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, Mary Nell Hinton, Doris Morris , Elizabeth Major and Glenn Major.
