James Wallace Mace departed this life on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the age of 69 years, 10 months,16 days. He was born in Morris Chapel, Tennessee on July 31, 1946, the son of the late Hartle and Hettie Clausel Mace. On April 9, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carole Robertson, who preceded him in death on June 17, 1995.
James was a farmer and loved the outdoors. He had also worked for Magnetek and Claytons. He was a member of the Morris Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to living in Morris Chapel, he had lived in Adamsville and Saltillo, Tennessee and Colorado. James had served in the United States Army from May 1966 thru May 1968 earning several medals including the National Defense Service, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Medal with Bronze Service Star, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Cook of Selmer, Tennessee, Lesa Plunk and her husband, Jimmy Lee, and Christy McMurry and her husband, Shawn all of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kelly Lindsey, Dustin Plunk, Josie Gooch, Dillon Plunk, Macey-Jane McMurry, and Mason McMurry; and great-granddaughter, Makinley Lindsey.
