JAMES EDWARD LARD
was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on August 1, 1924 the son of the late William Wesley and Mary Maggie Daley Lard.
Mr. Lard was united in marriage to the former Mary Jane Gibbs, who survives.
Mr. Lard worked for the Alabama State Department. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Lard was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
He departed this life on July 31, 2006 at the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 30 days.
Other than his wife, Mary Jane Gibbs Lard of Waterloo, Alabama, he is survived by 3 sisters, Artie Lucille Highland and Vera Pauline Stults, both of Waterloo, Alabama and Mary Marie Tilly of Savannah, Tennessee.
2 brothers, Charles Willard Lard and Hollis Eugene Lard, both of Waterloo, Alabama.
Mr. Lard is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Ruben Ernest Lard (who was killed in service on July 24, 1945), Milford Lee Lard, Ollie Lard, William Howard Lard and John D. Lard.
