James Arthur Keeton

James Arthur Keeton of Eatonton, GA, formerly of Lakeland, FL was born August 12, 1922 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Elmer and Edna Nelson Keeton. He was united in marriage to Vera Stayner and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Keeton enjoyed fishing and gardening and departed this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the age of 92 Years, 8 Months, 17 Days.

He is survived by sons, Charles Keeton and wife, Hannah of Eatonton, GA, James Ellis Keeton and wife, Tammy and Earl Thomas Keeton and wife, Bernice all of FL; daughter, Dorothy Jean Williams of AL; stepson, Robert Weatherholtz; stepdaughters, Sharon Pettrey and Susan Serviss; a sister, Mary Jo Keeton Jones of IN; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Keeton was preceded in death by four sons, Harold Glenn Keeton, Alvin Clay Keeton, Danny Michael Keeton; stepson, Richard Weatherholtz; brothers, Clifford Keeton, Elmer Keeton, Alford Keeton; sisters, Estella May, Ester Lee Keeton.

Services will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11 am at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, Waynesboro, TN will John Ives officiating. Burial will follow in McGee Cemetrey, Sweetwater Road, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
