James (Jim) Oscar Whitaker

James Oscar (Jim) Whitaker was born January 2, 1936 in Selmer, TN the son of the late Oscar and Mary Wolfe Whitaker.Mr. Whitaker was a retired sawsmith from Southwestern Limited Sawshop in Selmer, TN. He was associated with the Union Grove United Methodist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the VFW, and the Selmer Moose Lodge.Mr. Whitaker departed this life on June 5, 2013 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 5 Months, 3 Days. He is survived by a son, Gary Whitaker of Lebanon, TN; a sister, Pat Blanton and husband Ronnie of Selmer, TN; 2 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren; uncle, Billy Whitaker of Selmer, TN; sister-in-law, Katie Whitaker of Selmer, TN; two nephews, Steven Whitaker of Selmer, TN and Tommy Jones of Orlando, FL; host of cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by brother, Larry Whitaker; half brother, Carthel Hockaday.
