JAMES ROY JERROLDS
Was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 16, 1930 the son of Jessie Brashier Jerrolds and the late John Henry Jerrolds.
Roy was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a blood donor with the American Red Cross for many years. Roy was a United States Army Veteran.
He owned and managed a truck stop in Portageville, Missouri his early years. In 1954 he learned his trade as a bartender in Missouri when he was asked to fill in for a vacationing bartender. He moved back to Savannah in the late 60’s where he was employed as a bartender for Savannah Moose Lodge until he reached the age of retirement. He did not enjoy retirement life. He started working at North Elementary School for several years until he had to retire May 2006 because of health reasons. Roy always enjoyed his work all the years. He said the last job working at school with all those children and teachers was most rewarded in his life. He loved them so much and they all loved Roy Jerrolds or Mr. Jerrolds the children called him.
He departed this life on February 25, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 9 days.
Roy is survived by one son, Roy Clifton Jerrolds of Portageville, Missouri.
One daughter, Shelia Jo Pattillo and her husband James of Columbia, Missouri.
One step-daughter, Rhonda Vickery and her husband Greg of Savannah, Tennessee.
6 grandchildren, Roy Clifton Jerrolds, Jr., Rebecca, James and Jason Pattillo and Addison and Cameron Vickery.

He is survived by 5 brothers, Johnson Jerrolds of Ottawa, Illinois, Bob Jerrolds of Dahlonega, Georgia, Earl Jerrolds of Flint, Michigan, Larry Jerrolds of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Rick Jerrolds of Champaign, Illinois
His mother, Jessie Pearl Brashier Jerrolds of Dahlonega, Georgia.
Roy is also survived by a very special friend, Laura F. Rushing.
