James W. Jacobs, 80, of Middleton, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He worked on the pipeline crew at Tennessee Gas Pipeline for over 20 years. Mr. Jacobs was born May 28, 1926 in Hardeman County, son of the late Wickliff and Betty Strickland Jacobs and lived in Florence, Alabama before making his home in Middleton. He served the U. S. Army in Hawaii during WWII and was a member of Middleton Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy James of Nashville and Sheila Cox of Corinth, Miss.; one son, Anthony Jacobs of Middleton; two sisters, Melba Stewart of Middleton and Elizabeth Collier of Memphis; one brother, Jerome “Jerry†Jacobs of Memphis; one grandchild, Mandy Cox Foreman of Middleton and one great grandchild, Andrew Foreman.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Jacobs, Helen Brint, Zulene Antley and two brothers, L. B. and Carroll Jacobs.
