James Samuel Holt

James Samuel Holt of Warren, MI, formerly of Wayne County, TN, was born July 30, 1941 in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late Bud Harrison and Viola Beatrice Burks Holt. He was united in marriage to Mary Emmadean Thompson on June 18, 1960.

Mr. Holt was a Tool & Die worker and was a member of the Butler Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee.

Mr. Holt departed this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan at the age of 73 Years, 2 Months, 14 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Emmadean Holt of Warren, MI; sons, James Randall Holt of Cypress Inn, TN, Tim Holt of Collinwood, TN and Jeff Holt and Matt Holt both of Warren, MI; grandchildren, Bryce, Tristan, Kelly, Jessica, Jeremy, Mariah, Hailey and Ranson; great-grandchildren, Jesslynn and Drayden; brothers, Charlie T. Holt of Blarkton, MO, Terry G. Holt of Maxpon, NC, Jerry D. Holt of Collinwood, TN; sisters, Clara Ruth Walker of Risco, MO, Morene Coble of Laurindurg, NC, Lorene Brisson of Laurel Hill, NC and Corene Daniel and Betty Reaves both of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Holt; sisters, Clarsie and Margaret Holt.

Services will be Monday, October 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee. Burial will follow in Butler Grove Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Matt, Jeff, Randy, Tim and Jeremy Holt and Devin Reaves.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Monday, October 20, 2014 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.
