Mr. James Milton Hawkins of Hickory Valley departed this life Monday morning, November 19, 2012 at his home. He was 70 years old.
Mr. Hawkins was born in Walters, Oklahoma January 29, 1942 to the late James Deltar Hawkins, Jr. and Lora Mae Smiles Hawkins. In 1957 he enlisted in the United States Army and retired September 30, 1979 after 22 years of service. He then owned and operated his own security company, Securities TX, and was a college professor in Alvin, Texas. On February 5, 1999, he was united in marriage to Mirka P. Hawkins, who survives, and moved to Hickory Valley. Past residences include Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas. He was Baptist in belief.
In addition to his wife of thirteen years, he is survived by four daughters, Jennifer Carr and husband Brian of Jackson, Andrea Stanek of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Janete Stewart of Alvin, Texas, and Janelle Espinosa of Galveston, Texas; two sons, John Freiberger of Atlanta, Georgia and Ricky Freiberger of Colorado; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Hawkins, who passed away in 2011.
