James Quinton Griggs

Services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home , Waynesboro Tennessee. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens , Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3 from 6:00-9:00 pm and on Thursday, December 4 from 8:00 am until service time at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro



Mr. Quinton, was born on April 11, 1919 in Waynesboro, Tennessee the son of the late James G. and Virginia Cole Griggs. He departed this life on December 2, 2008 in Nashville, TN at the age of 89 years, 7 months, 21 days. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griggs was preceded in death by a brother, Cole Griggs; a sister, Marie (Griggs) Borden.



Mr. Griggs was a retired Real Estate Broker with Griggs Real Estate . He was a member of the Waynesboro Church of God in Waynesboro, Tennessee.



He is survived by ; his wife Mrs. Eva Marie (Stockard) Griggs of Waynesboro, TN;

sons, Travis Wilford Griggs and wife Sue of Lawrenceburg, TN, Leroy Griggs of Waynesboro, TN, Allen Griggs and wife Ann of Murfreesboro, TN, Charles (Charlie) Griggs of Waynesboro, TN, Marlin Griggs and wife Corinne of Hartselle, AL;

daughter, Virginia (Griggs) Stone and husband Junior of Waynesboro, TN;



14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren



brother, Ford Griggs of Waynesboro, TN;

sister, Edith (Griggs) Lynch, of Memphis, TN;
