JAMES C. 'SONNY' FONDREN
was born February 16, 1926 in Savannah, Tennessee son of the late Charlie B. and Maggie Durham Fondren.
On June 28, 1947 he married the former Jean Young.
Mr. Fondren was a Retired Regional Assistant VIce President for United Family Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder and on several Committes. He loved his church and church family, he loved Gardenng, Golf, and Tennessee Football. He loved his Family and Friends.
Mr. Fondren was as retired US Army Veteran serving in World War II. He also served in the National Guard.
He departed this life November 22, 2008 at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 6 days.
He leaves other than his wife Jean of Savannah; one son Dennis Carl Fondren of Savannah, Tennessee.
Three grandchildren - Bart Carl Fondren - Shelbyville, Tennessee, Scott and Todd Harrison both of Savannah, Tennessee. Six Great grandchildren.
Two sisters - Thelma Gallucci - Warren, Michigan, Virginia Morris - San Jose, California. Two brothers - Ancil Fondren - Arlington, Texas and Frank Fondren Savannah, Tennessee.
He was preceded by a grandchild - Kelly Jean Fondren. One sister - Gaston Harrison and a brother - Joe Bundy Fondren.
