James "Mudd" Etheridge

James "Mudd" Etheridge was born July 10, 1932 in McNairy County, TN, the son of the late Rodey and Grace O'Neal Etheridge.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Dowty on December 20, 1969. Mrs. Etheridge preceded him in death on December 11, 2010.
Mr. Etheridge was a member of Fourth Street Church of Christ of Selmer, TN and a former member of the Court Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Selmer, TN. He was retired and last worked for Big Star grocery store in Selmer. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Selmer Coin Club. James enjoyed Kentucky Basketball, Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Cardinals, dogs, babies and loved his family.
Mr. Etheridge departed this life on February 26, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 7 Months, 16 Days.
He is survived by his nephew, Arden Dowty and wife Becky of Selmer, TN; great nephews: Jacob Dowty of Hornsby, TN, Tyler Dowty of Selmer, TN and Stephen Harmon and wife Emily of Memphis, TN; great niece, Krystina Prather of Selmer, TN; great great niece and nephews: Adyson Prather, Timothy Prather and Cory Dowty; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Clark.
