James Donald Dicus

James Donald (Jim) Dicus of Waynesboro, TN was born August 29, 1930 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late William Fay and Elsie Throgmorton Dicus. He was united in marriage to Margaret Modene Baker on February 23, 1951 and she preceded him in death on May 17, 1993.

Mr. Dicus was a retired cattle farmer and tool & die maker after 40 years at Wright Industry in Nashville, TN. He had previously worked at Genesco and Aladin Industries and lived in Nashville, TN approximately 42 years before returning to Waynesboro. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Donelson, TN and Clifton, Tennessee and served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953.

Mr. Dicus departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Wayne County Assisted Living in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 2 Months, 5 Days.

He is survived by sons, James Randall Dicus and wife, Belinda of Robards, KY and Joel Douglas Dicus and fiance',Susan Franks of Waynesboro, TN; a grandson, Jacob Dicus and wife, Jessica; and a grt-grandchild, Riley Faye Dicus.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Dicus was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Dicus.

Services will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Miller and Sammy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Billy Burns, Larry Thompson, David Throgmorton, Steve Throgmorton, Tommy Tinin, and Steve Wilson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
