James Marcus Daniel of Collinwood was born January 29, 1927 in Collinwood, Tennessee, the son of the late James Monroe Daniel and Meda Cordelia Brewer Daniel. Mr. Daniel died on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 2 Months, 13 Days. Mr. Daniel entered the U.S. Army June 20, 1945 and was discharged November 27, 1946 achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He received the Grmany Army Occupation and the World War II victory medals. He was retired from the C and O Railroad and was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinwood. May 17, 1945 he was married to Frances Marie Pigg who survives of Collinwood, TN. Other survivors are two sons, Darwin Daniel of Troy, Michigan and Roger Daniel of Collinwood, TN, three daughters, Linda Jones of Jackson, Michigan, Roberta Odor of Plymouth, Michigan, and Debra DeMoss of Flower Mound, Texas, 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 half-sisters.
Services will be held on April 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Mike Hammonds officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in McGlamery Cemetery near Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at First Baptist Church in Collinwood. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
