James A. Crumby, Sr.
was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on June 2, 1931 the son of the late Albert Matthew and Nola Jane Barnes Crumby.
On November 6, 1954 he was united in marriage to the former Deloris Read, who survives. Mr. Crumby was a veteran of the U.S. Army; having served in Iceland and Korea. He worked with APAC/CSM as an asphalt / paving manager. Mr. Crumby was a member of the American Legion. He loved to garden and enjoyed going to the Smoky Mountains. Mr. Crumby was also an excellent wood crafter.
He departed this life on November 22, 2006 at his residence in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 20 days.
Mr. Crumby is survived by his wife, Deloris Read Crumby of Adamsville, Tennessee;
one daughter, Jama Crumby Hosea of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons: James Albert Crumby, Jr. and Joey Earl Crumby, both of Savannah, Tennessee;
7 grandchildren: Brad Hosea, Terra Hosea McLemore, Dixie Crumby Smith, Melanie Crumby, Jennifer Crumby, Bethany Crumby and Brittany Crumby;
4 great-grandchildren: Haley Smith, Dustin Smith, Blake Smith and Carter McLemore;
one brother, Charles Crumby of Adamsville, Tennessee and
one sister, Betty Kennedy of Morris Chapel, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Floyd Crumby and Bobby Crumby and one sister, Marie Hollin.
