JAMES CARL “COTTON†COUCH
Was born in West Point, Mississippi on May 17, 1937 the son of the late William Carl and Elsie Mays Couch.
In 1992 he was united in marriage to the former Judy Barnett, who survives.
Mr. Couch was a graduate of Union University. He was a claims adjuster for State Farm Insurance Company for 27 years. Mr. Couch was a member of Sharon Baptist Church where he formed Cottons’ Volunteer Ministry. Mr. Couch was a member of the Tennessee National Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman and was a member of Hatchie Rice Hunting Club.
Cotton loved his family and friends and loved “his†Hatchie.
Mr. Couch departed this life on December 5, 2005 at his residence in Crump, Tennessee at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Other than his wife, Judy of Crump, Tennessee, he is survived by his children, Ed Couch of Harriman, Tennessee, Alan Couch of Jackson, Tennessee, Andrew Couch of Meridian, Mississippi, Terry Couch of Scottsboro, Alabama, Jena Buchanan of Yuma, Tennessee and Jeff Rollins of Medina, Tennessee.
10 grandchildren, Nathan Couch, Audrey Couch, Ashley Couch, Brandon Buchanan, Morgan Buchanan, Garrett Love, Patrick Love, Sam Rollins, Eian Shuff and Sarah Shuff.
One great-grandchild, Sydney Buchanan.
One sister, Sara Hodge and one nephew, David Hodge both of Moline, Illinois.
Mr. Couch is also survived by the mother of the Couch children, Bonnie Golos Carnathan.
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry Couch and one nephew Danny Hodge.
