James Collins

Mr. Collins passed away Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.



A native of Covington, he was a timber cutter, having last worked at the Grisham Stave Mill in Medon. He was born to James Samuel Collins and Louise Laverne Bragg Collins, both of whom preceded him in death and lived most of his life in Medon. He was a Baptist in faith.



Survivors include three sisters, Alrita Kendrick of Cedar Grove, Judy Brooks and her husband, Larry, of Medon, Robbie Cooper and her husband Danny of Jackson; four brothers and their spouses, Harvey and Martha Honey of Atoka, W. C. and Mona Collins of Jackson, Sammy Collins of Medon and Ricky & Nancy Collins of Medon; a sister in law, Oma Lee Honey of Hornsby; and a special friend, Rosetta Brooks of Medon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Nance and a brother, James Honey.
