December 22, 1959 — April 17, 2023

Bolivar

Jim passed from this life on Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home after losing his battle with cancer at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 26 days.  He was Christian in faith.

He was born in Denver, Colorado to Judith Ann Vriezelaar and Danniel Edward Orton.  He married his wife, Patricia (Trish) Callahan on June 17, 1995.  He grew up in Jackson, Tennessee where he graduated from Northside High School in 1977, where he played baseball.  Jim had a passion for music which led him to radio where he began a career as a DJ in Jackson in the 80's, which he loved.

After moving to Hardeman County, he worked at the Sheriff's office as a corrections officer for eight years before becoming a guard at Western State Hospital, where he later retired in February, 2022.

Jim loved spending time with family, fishing, and watching all sports on television.  He was an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers - his blood ran orange.  He also enjoyed watching football, baseball, basketball and NASCAR.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters, Shawn Callahan and Tracy (Scott) Banks; sons, Tommy (Amie ) McCord and Tim (Alana) McCord; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); a host of nieces and nephews; brother, Bryan Seech; sisters, Lori (Jackie) Wood, Dana (Doug) Kieck and Rhonda Birmingham; brother-in-law, Bo (Brenda) Jordon; sister-in-law, Lesia Ellis; close friend, Tim Ellis; friend and mentor, Tom Mapes; aunt, Kathleen Vales, who was like a mother to him; and his two Yorkies, Barkley and Charlie.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John Seech and Barry Seech, Jr.; grandmother, Anna Loretta (Gammy) McCuen; great-grandmother, Florence McCuen; brother-in-law, Michael Jordon; sister-in-law, Beverly Jordon; niece, Nikki Hammons, who he was very fond of; and his loving pomeranian, Shiloh Byron Callahan.
