James Elmo Brooks

James Elmo Brooks was born November 13, 1913 in Hardeman County, Tennessee, the son of the late Hubert and Georgie Hugh Smith Brooks.He was united in marriage to Toka McCalip Brooks who preceded him in death on April 21, 2006.Mr. Brooks was a retired farmer. He was also retired from the McNairy County Board of Education where he had been a bus driver for over 33 years. Mr. Brooks was also a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee.He departed this life on October 12, 2006 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 10 Months, 29 Days. Mr. Brooks is survived by a daughter, Bobbie Tidwell and husband Gene, of Gallatin, Tennessee; a son, H. Norman Brooks and wife Edith of Germantown, Tennessee, 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren and one sister, Sue Burns of Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Brooks will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
