James Brooks

October 28, 1941 — July 2, 2010

Henderson, TN: James “Jim” Brooks, age 68, passed away July 02, 2010 at the Jackson – Madison County Hospital.



He was born and reared in Jacksonville, Arkansas son of the late Vivian Eugene and Edith Frances Sims Brooks. He went to school in Jacksonville and graduated high school in 1960. In 1960 he married Elizabeth Staggs of Jacksonville where they made their home until 1974. Jim worked for Handleman Company as a salesman in media distribution for the southeast region of the United States. In 1974 the family moved to Henderson. Jim retired in 2006 and continued to drive a truck for Gary Trucking of Lexington. He was a deacon in the Sanford Hill Baptist Church for over 9 years and a faithful member. He loved spending his pass time with his grandchildren and his many friends in the community and at Jacks Restaurant.



He is survived by his wife Millie Brooks of Henderson, three sons: Tim Brooks and wife Christie of Memphis, Michael and Jordan Brooks of Henderson, two daughters: Tammy and Shalena Brooks of Henderson, a brother: Donald Brooks and two sisters: Judy Jones and Carol Trickey all of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Three Grandchildren : Jake, Luke, Georgia Brooks of Memphis.



He was preceded in death by a sister: Rose Scott and a grandchild: Meylin Carli Lopez.
