James L. Briley

James L. Briley was born October 25, 1913 in Hardin County, Tennessee the son of the late Horace Jefferson and Ida Spears Briley.He was united in marriage to Myrtle Green on May 7, 1932. Mrs. Briley preceded him in death on March 26, 2005.Mr. Briley was a farmer and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been a resident of the Adamsville community since 1949. Mr. Briley departed this life on March 30, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 5 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Ruby Nell Bronc of Guntown, MS; three sons: James Norman Briley and wife Bobbie of Dalton, GA, Billy Wayne Briley and wife Joyce of Adamsville, TN, and Bruce Andrew Briley and wife Sue of Adamsville, TN; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Shaw of Memphis, TN; a brother, Claude Briley of Blytheville, AR; and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Briley was preceded in death by a daughter, Leola Russom, and two brothers, Max Briley and Douglas Briley.
