JAMES ROBERT (JAKIE) BOROUGHS
Was born in Saltillo, Tennessee on February 9, 1925 the son of the late William Robert and Emma Brooks Boroughs.
On May 19, 1942 he was united in marriage to Mary Lucile Shelby, who preceded her husband in death on October 31, 2005.
Mr. Boroughs served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired auto parts salesman from Savannah Auto Parts. Mr. Boroughs was a member of Savannah First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and he was a member of Hardee's Men's Breakfast Club. Mr. Boroughs loved talking about the Navy and loved his church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and any kind of Jeep vehicles.
Mr. Boroughs departed this life on July 11, 2016 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 2 days.
He is survived by his two daughters, Margaret Ann Boroughs Schaaf of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Deborah Jean Boroughs Sowell of Savannah, Tennessee.
four grandchildren, Phillip Schaaf, Paul Schaaf, Regina Westenhoefer, and Alisha Sowell
nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one infant daughter and one grandchild, William R. Schaaf, Jr.
