James Henry Berry

James Henry Berry of Collinwood, TN was born April 18, 1927 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Henry and Elsie Horton Berry. He was united in marriage to the former Iva Jean Bryant on December 7, 1952.

Mr. Berry was retired from Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a member of the Collinwood Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee and served in the United States Army.

Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Iva Jean Bryant Berry and daughter, Benita Smith and husband, Mike all of Collinwood, TN, two grandchildren, Kacey Smith and wife, Miranda and Kaylee Smith and Evan Stokes; sisters, Mabel Cameron and Wylodean Fite both of Hohenwald, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Berry was preceded in death by two brothers, Bonnie Berry and Johnnie (Jab) Berry and three sisters, Roxie Berry, Ada Stricklin and Annie Holt.

Services will be held on March 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Steven Turnbow, Malcolm Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 12 noon to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Larry Wright, Neal Stricklin, Dennis Moore, Paul Hammack, Toney Todd and Steve Misenhimer.

Due to Covid-19, everyone attending the visiitation or services are asked to wear face coverings and practice physical distancing.
