James Melson Beckham, Jr. age 65 of Waynesboro, TN was born May 18,1951 in Columbia, TN, the son of the late James Melson Beckham, Sr. and Mary Josiephine Swafford Beckham. Mr. Beckham died October 5, 2016 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University in 1974. As a former Waynesboro City Commissioner, he played an instrumental role in obtaining the town uplift grant and building of the gazebo located on the square. He was formerly a Rotary Club president and a member of the Jaycees. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was employed at Murfreesboro Bank and Trust, Wayne County Bank and was retired from Peoples Bank.
Jim enjoyed outdoor activities, mowing and spending time with his family on the farm. He especially enjoyed spending time with his three precious grandchildren of whom he was extremely proud.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jancy Luna Beckham; a daughter Amber Lynn Beckham Stults and husband TIm of Fayettville AR, a grandson James Timothy Beckham Stults, and granddaughters Jane Kathryn Grace Stults, and Lilly Anabelle Lucille Stults; and a brother, John Franklin Beckham and wife Pat of Tullahoma TN; a sister, Mary Lynn Beckham Nix and husband Kenny of Dunlap TN; a brother-in-law Joe Darryl Luna and wife Donna of Parsons TN; and a sister-in-law Talitha Winnett and husband Derrick of Waynesboro TN and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at The First United Methodist Church, October 15,2016 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro First United Methodist Church..
