James (Jimmy Joe) Baker, Jr. departed this life in his residence in Savannah, Tennessee on May 9, 2015 at the age of 52 years, 9 months, and 16 days. He was born in Hammond, Indiana on July 23, 1962, son to the late James Clinton Baker, Sr. and Virginia Faye McClelland Middleton.
He was united in marriage to Jane Catherine McConnell Baker on March 25, 1983. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2010.
Jimmy Joe was self-employed as a mechanic. He also lived in the Cerro Gordo community of Savannah, Tennessee. He loved hunting, fishing, and race cars. He also loved to spend time with his kids and grandchildren. Jimmy Joe also enjoyed riding motorcycles, 3-wheelers, and 4-wheelers. He was always willing to help out others anytime he could.
Jimmy Joe is survived by his children, Brittany Yates and her husband, Casey, of Savannah, Tennessee and Brandon Baker of Savannah, Tennessee; siblings, Billy McClelland, Timothy Tichnor, Roger Baker, Deborah Baker, and Kevin Baker all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Bonnie Cozad of Philippi, West Virginia; and grandchildren, Landon Yates, Tanner Yates, and Makenzie Yates.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one grandchild, Jayden Yates.
