James Paul (J. P.) Aylor Sr. was born July 19, 1917 in McKenzie, the son of the late George and Bertha Childress Aylor.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Roberts on May 29, 1946.
After high school, Mr. aylor worked in the still mill in Gary, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army, in the Pacific Theater, from 1942 untill 1945 during WWII.After WWII. Decorated Veteran, J. P. returned to McKenzie and began working for what was then called American Telephone and Telegraph. He was transferred to Selmer, TN in the early 1950's. He was employed by A.T&T for 35 years retired in 1982. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee and the Pioneers of America. Hie interest were Golf, Football, Bird Gogs and Bird Hunting, but more recently was the primary care giver for his wife.
Mr. Aylor departed this life on December 2, 2007 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 4 Months, 13 Days.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, a daughter, Anne Keefe and husband Kenneth of Germantown, TN; a son, Paul Aylor and wife Jennifer of Hornsby, TN; a grandchild, Sydni Kathryn Aylor.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Aylor was preceded in death by three sisters, May Horwith, Allie Aylor, Georgia Pentecost; two brothers, David and John Aylor.
