Funeral services for James Andrew Jackson (Jack) Andrews, 86, of Waynesboro wwill be conducted Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro with Chad Clanton and Jerry Robbins officiating. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge. Pallbearers will be Dairl Andrews, Lee Roy Andrews, Grayford Andrews, Jimmy Andrews, Carl Wisdom, and Jasper Smith.
Mr. Andrews passed from this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Minnie Myrtle Andrews. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army where he was stationed primarily in the Phillippines. He served as a minister for more than thirty years and was also a retired worker from Mallory and Genesco in Waynesboro. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin, Dewey, Chester, Walter, and Teat Andrews and a sister, Estella (Hess) Story.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, LouElla Stockard Andrews of Waynesboro; one son, Randall James Andrews and his wife Brenda of Waynesboro, one daughter, Angela Denise Pevahouse and her husband Johnny Harold of Waynesboro; two brothers, Lester Andrews of Lawrenceburg and Porter Andrews of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Willodean (Gambrell) Atwell of St. Joseph, TN, Myrtle (McMullin) Smith of Forsyth, GA and Lillie Mae (Dixon) Butler of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Andrews, Crystal Diane Pevahouse Bradley, Jessica Ann Pevahouse all of Waynesboro; three great-grandchildren, Gunner Layne Andrews, Abrianna Laynabella Andrews, and Jorja Maye Bradley all of Waynesboro.
