He was born in Milledgeville, Tennessee on August 18, 1954, the son of the late Lee and Maxine Britton Smith. On September 5, 2012, he was united in marriage to Dana Schmidt, who survives.
Jackie worked in the lumber department at Lowe's for 15 years. He had previously worked for Magnatech for over 20 years and Valspar. He loved to play golf, played basketball in his high school years and softball after high school.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Dana Smith of Milledgeville, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Jenea Blanton of Panama City Beach, Florida; stepson, Ryan Jackson of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; and brother, Jimmy Smith of Milledgeville, Tennessee.
