Jackie Wayne James, age 57, formerly of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away March 12, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at McNairy Regional Hospital.



Jack was born February 27, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Roy Jack and Betty June Hamm James. He graduated from Iuka High School in 1971 and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College where he was a member of the football team. Jack enlisted in the United States Army and served his full tour of duty in Stuttgart, Germany. He loved hunting, fishing, football, traveling, and playing the guitar. Jack enjoyed woodworking and became a skilled carpenter and construction worker, traveling throughout the Southeast and West.



Jack is survived by his two sons, Brian and Jeremy James of Arizona; his mother, Betty June Nunley and step-father R. C. of Iuka, MS; five sisters: Patricia Rader and husband Norm of Mount Carroll, IL, Carolyn Colin of Addison, IL, Sharon Brajkovich and husband Peter of Lombard, IL, Debbie Bowling and husband Wayborn of Iuka, MS, and Lisa Kretzchmar of Tuscumbia, AL; great aunt Louise Utley of Tuscumbia, AL; 9 nieces, 2 nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, numerous anuts, uncles, and cousins, and a very special friend, Johnnie Osborn of Ramer, TN.



Jack was preceded in death by his father, Roy Jack James; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Johnnie Hamm; and his paternal grandparents, S. J. and Ona James. In accordance with his wishes, Jack unselfishly donated his organs and cremation rites have been accorded. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer is in charge of arrangements.



The family will receive friends in the chapel of Ludlam Funeral Home in Iuka, MS from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 21, 2010.
