Jack "Papaw" Bert York, age 64 of Counce, Tennessee, passed away Monday evening, August 5, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on October 15, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Georgia Flandro York and the late Jack York.

Bert was a 1978 graduate of Cyprus High School in his hometown of Magna, Utah. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with his wife and family. He especially enjoyed finding any way to help or serve his community. The Amish community was dear to his heart and he always loved to help them in any way that he could.

On March 3, 2003, he was united in marriage to Debra Tomlinson York, who survives. Everyone knew Bert as "Papaw" and his wife Debra as "Granny". They had been married for 21 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Georgia Flandro York; son, Jason Tomlinson (Shauna) of Counce, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Taylor Poindexter, Payton Tomlinson, Jaycee Tomlinson, and Aubrey Davis; great granddaughter, Lila Drew Hester; sister, Hannah Gay (John) of Magna, Utah; sister in law, Delores Crump; brother in law, Don Luttrell; two nieces, Heather and Amanda (Blake); two great nephews, Bennett and Mason; and a host of friends.

Donations can be made to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
