Mr. McLain died at Jackson General Hospital. He was born in Hardeman County, son of the late Robert Tate and Sue Evelyn Hughes McLain and lived all of his life here. He worked in construction and was a member of Parran's Chapel Baptist Church for over thirty years. A US Army veteran, Mr. McLain loved gardening and reading. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Bonnie Fay Bevills McLain; a son, Jack Tate McLain Jr. of Cookeville; 3 half sisters, Shirley Milford of Adamsville, Liz Rutledge of Somerville and Frances Johnson of Bolivar; a brother, James Robert "Jimmy" McLain of Medon; and a grandson, Joseph Hunter Fuller.
