Mr. Jack King, age 90 of Nashville, Tennessee, departed this life Tuesday morning, September 16, 2014 at Clare Bridge in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Mr. King was born in Hornsby May 5, 1924 to the late Marcus and Martha Crawford King. He served in the United States Army during World War II and fought at Normandy Beach on D-Day, earning a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He lived most of his life in Arkansas and worked as a machinist, retiring from International Harvester. He lived his later years in Memphis and Nashville. His favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Reneau and husband Charles of Nashville; son, Jackie Marcus King of Memphis; and six grandchildren, Tessa Bishop of Cookeville, Brooke Bishop of Nashville, Parker Bishop of Memphis, Jackie Marie King of Memphis, Mark King of Memphis, and Johnna King of Memphis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Gee; and two brothers, Ernest King and Eugene King.
