J. W. Otrail Smith

J. W. Otrail Smithwas born in Chester County, Tennessee on February 8, 1929 the son of the late John Paton and Letha Amanda McCoy Smith.Mr. Smith was a steel worker for Granite City Steel in Granite City, Illinois for 35 years and was a member of the United Steel Worker's Union. He loved fishing, hunting, and doing handy work.Mr. Smith departed this life on Friday, October 31, 2008 in Brentwood, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 8 months, 23 days.Mr. Smith is survived by 5 daughters: Cynthia Johnson of Brentwood, Tennessee, Betty Curran of North Richland Hills, Texas, Barbara Hotz and Reba McDowell both of Pleasantview, Texas and Tanya Smith; 2 sons: Johnny Smith and Dale Smith of San Angelo, Texas; a sister: Nell Singleton of Fairview Heights, Illinois; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a daughter: Peggy Jean Smith; 2 brothers: Earl Smith and S.D. Smith; a sister: Clara Lee Creasey.
